10 Symptoms of Gluten Sensitivity You Probably Didn’t Know About

Sensitivity to gluten is a serious issue in modern health. People suffering from it have difficulty digesting gluten and are consequently deprived of essential nutrients. The issue has been connected with a shockingly wide amount of disease and health issues ranging from skin problems to dementia and celiac disease.

Celiac disease (CD) is usually the only medical concern surrounding gluten sensitivity. It stems from an autoimmune response to gluten and if left untreated can contribute to malnutrition, mental illness, cancer, and diminutive body growth. The problem is that doctors have restricted testing for CD only and ignored gluten sensitivity. However incompatibility with gluten doesn’t have to be associated with CD, therefore diagnosis for it is severely limited. In other words, there are various degrees of gluten sensitivity, but for many doctors it is either you have CD or you have nothing. Nowadays there is more awareness that there is non-celiac gluten sensitivity and it is a distinct clinical condition.

NCGS – A Distinct Clinical Condition

NCGS (non-celiac gluten sensitivity) is the name given to the majority of people who have a gluten intolerance that doesn’t have to deal with celiac disease. The condition’s legitimacy has received a lot of debate among health practitioners. Many want to stick with tradition and dismiss the issue as a hoax.

Some estimates say that around 1 in every 20 Americans has a type of NCGS. Medical experts that were curious about the issue conducted a placebo-controlled gold standard and double-blind, placebo-controlled trials on gluten ingestion. In the end they were able to validate the condition of gluten sensitivity apart from just celiac disease.

What is Gluten Sensitivity?

Gluten is a protein composite that is found all around us – in grains, hair products, and even in playdoh. When the body has a sensitivity to gluten it has adverse effects on every inch of healthy tissue in your body. Medical experts are now shocked to find that this sensitivity might be a lot more common than we previously thought.

Estimates suggest that gluten sensitivity goes unrecognized and causes trouble in 99% of people that have it. Many people are quick to dismiss the issue of gluten digestion as a hoax, but more than 90 million people in the United States suffer some type of sensitivity to it.

Signs of Gluten Intolerance

The first step in validating any gluten health concerns is educating yourself. Since there has been an alarmingly small amount of medical research on gluten sensitivity, patients have been forced to take matters into their own hands and look for symptoms. A few of the most common signs of gluten intolerance are listed below:

The most obvious indication of gluten intolerance is digestive issues. This includes bloating, gas, abdominal pain, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Unstable emotional health like depression, anxiety, and sudden drastic changes in mood.
Look for effects on the brain such as dizziness, lack of focus, trouble balancing, and tingling sensations.
Frequent migraines and headaches.
Abnormal tiredness throughout the day, even if you haven’t experienced much physical or mental exhaustion.
Several types of rashes like eczema and psoriasis may appear on your skin. Look for areas that are dry and have red or white marks that cause itching.
Despite the beliefs of some physicians, fibromyalgia (skeletal pain and weakness) can actually be a symptom of gluten intolerance. Inflammation and pain can occur virtually anywhere on the body.
Issues with hormone balance that cause worsened PMS. Instances of inexplicable infertility may also signal a difficulty processing gluten.
Keratosis pilaris might also develop on the skin. It is characterized by rough discolored bumps and hardened skin around the thighs, arms, and cheeks – usually happening when gluten damages the stomach.
Joint pain and inflammation.
The lack of digestive clues makes it difficult to associate with gluten sensitivity. Many doctors find symptoms but fail to associate them with gluten. Remain objective about your symptoms and talk things over with a physician if you’re concerned.

How to Test for Gluten Intolerance

As mentioned earlier, the medical focus on gluten health issues is disappointingly small. Because of this there aren’t many testing methods available at the moment. Only two methods are worth trusting: blood testing and elimination dieting.

Blood testing is fairly straightforward but many people have been drawn to the simplicity and ease of elimination diets. If you’re exhibiting any symptoms of gluten sensitivity it could work for you. Cyrex Laboratories offer a comprehensive blood test which screens all of the wheat and gluten proteins and enzymes.

As for elimination diet, the first step is finding everything with gluten in your daily diet. Avoid eating those foods or any other that might give you digestive troubles. After approximately 3 weeks take note of the symptoms. If they’ve gotten better, chances are your body cannot tolerate gluten.

The important part of this diet is staying committed. You can’t consume even the slightest amount of gluten during your elimination period. If you do so, it could offset the entire process and give you faulty results.

Possible Treatment for Gluten Sensitivity

There is only one surefire way to alleviate the perils of gluten sensitivity – by eliminating gluten from your life. Real results only come from cutting back on gluten 100%. This can be difficult for some people that have grown accustomed to a gluten based diet, but there are helpful tips to keep them on track:

Start shopping in the gluten-free alternative section. There are a ton of options like pasta and bread so you don’t have to cut all your favorite foods.
Any grains that use wheat, rye, or barley need to be avoided completely.
Carefully read the labels of your groceries and look for gluten-indicating terms such as vegetable protein, flour, soy, vegetable hum, and malt flavoring.
Always choose whole foods over anything that is processed.
Have some digestive aids handy in case you do consume gluten accidentally.

14 Warning Signs That You Have Poor Blood Circulation

From the day you were born your body has worked constantly to circulate more than five liters of blood through your body. Your arteries and veins are like highways for blood transportation. This helps your organs function, delivers nutrients and hormones, regulates your PH, and contributes to essentially every bodily process. Like highways, they require maintenance and care to function properly.

What is Low Blood Circulation?

Somebody with poor blood circulation receives insufficient amounts of blood to certain parts of the body. Plaque buildup and other factors slow the blood down and limit the effectiveness of transportation to the legs, arms, heart, and other important areas.

There are several life habits, medical conditions, and behaviors that make an individual susceptible to this issue. Smoking, pregnancy, eating disorders, and weight gain are just a few of many ways someone can become vulnerable to this condition.

Poor circulation affects people of all ages and if left untreated can cause serious damage to your brain, heart, liver, kidney and limbs. It’s most common in elderly people but should be taken seriously at any age.

The Symptoms

Poor blood circulation is a danger because of its silent nature. It can be easy to overlook in its early stage and only found once it has worsened. The following symptoms are common indicators of a weakened circulatory process.

Visible Signs

Leg Ulcers – Ulcers are sore inflamed parts of the skin much like a rash that refuses to go away. Someone with poor circulation might notice them beginning to develop near their feet and on their legs. Look for dry red patches of varied sizes digging into the skin.

Swelling – If poor circulation interferes with the kidneys it can lead to abnormal swelling. If your hands or feet begin to gather fluid from slow blood flow they might appear swollen and puffy. This happens because the circulatory system tries to reduce the load and the result is leaving some fluid that is called edema.

Discolored Skin – Without the right amount of oxygen pumping through your veins you’ll notice a slight discoloration, also known as cyanosis. Your fingers and toes will have a slightly bruised look to them and other areas might look more blue than usual.

Varicose Veins – If the valves working to pump blood are weakened it allows blood and pressure to build up. This causes the veins just below the surface of the skin to twist and swell. You might notice pain after long periods of sitting or random itchiness during the day. These veins most commonly appear near the feet and ankles. If you suffer from varicose veins, find here 14 tips to improve varicose veins naturally.

Hair Loss and Weak Nails – One of the clearest signs that your body isn’t getting the right amount of nutrients is within your hair and nails. Hair might become dry and start to thin and fall out in certain areas. Your skin may also become much more dry and itchy and nails tend to become much weaker and fall apart easily. Your fingernails can actually tell you a lot about your health, and you can find here 11 health warnings your fingernails may be sending.

Physical Signs

Digestive Issues – With less blood pumping through your body all the other processes have to be slowed as well. When digestion is slowed it causes constipation. Bowel movements become much less frequent and more difficult. To ease constipation, you can find more information in my previous article about the 10 best natural remedies for constipation.

Weakened Immune System – Your body’s ability to detect and fight off pathogens and remain healthy will also be affected by a slower blood flow. You may pick up illnesses much easier because of the sluggish antibodies. You also might find that wounds and injuries take much longer to heal. You can find here ways of how to boost your immune system naturally.

Cold Hands and Feet – When your blood is flowing at optimal speed it helps to keep your body temperature at a healthy and comfortable level. If your circulation is poor, the process of regulating temperature is interfered with. This causes chilly feelings, usually in areas with a lot of nerve endings like the hands and feet.

Exhaustion – When blood flow is slowed down, it restricts the amount of fuel delivered to your muscles. With less oxygen and nutrients fueling your muscles you’ll feel tired much quicker as they struggle to keep up with the stagnant flow of blood. This symptom is characterized by a lack of breath, sore muscles, and less endurance during daily activities.

Erectile Dysfunction - Men with poor circulation might experience an insufficient amount of blood flow in the reproductive organs. It becomes increasingly difficult for them to perform sexual tasks and may eventually stop completely.

Angina – This symptom is indicated by a squeezing pain in the chest. There is less blood flowing to the heart, which causes a tight feeling of pressure in the area surrounding it. The heavy feeling will come and go randomly and is a likely sign of poor blood circulation.

Lack of Appetite - Your liver is responsible for sending hunger signals to the brain when it receives an adequate amount of blood flow. You start to experience less food cravings and eat smaller meals during the day. This also leads to weight loss, another common symptom of bad circulation.

Poor Cognitive Function – The brain relies heavily on blood flow to function properly. You might feel less focused and determined throughout the day. Poor circulation may also affect the effectiveness of your short and long term memory. In this case you may want to refer to my previous article about how to improve your brain function naturally.

Feeling Numb – Almost everybody has experienced the feeling of numbness from keeping your limbs stagnant for too long. With poor circulation you’ll feel this much more frequently and in parts of the body that you don’t normally lose feeling in. The feelings of numbness usually last no longer than a few minutes.

As you can see, poor blood circulation can affect your body quite significantly. And while treating the symptoms can bring a relief, it’s still best to treat the source of the problem and to improve the blood circulation itself.

10 Signs of a Heart Attack Never to Ignore

Heart disease is the number one killer of US men and women. It is so deadly because most signs are vague and often we don’t assign them to having a heart attack. Not always are they so intense or obvious like someone grabbing his chest and having troubles with breathing.

When I was in my early twenties my dad had a heart attack. He survived because of quick action of my mom calling 911 and rushing him to the hospital. Our family has a long history of heart diseases and that’s why my mom didn’t hesitate to call for help.

Warning signs of a heart attack can be misdiagnosed as heartburn, muscle soreness, flu, and other non-cardiac causes. The higher your risk the more likely those signs mean something is going wrong with your heart…. And you should take those signs very seriously. The quicker you end up in the hospital the more chance you have to pull through.

Risk factors include:

  • Age
  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Smoking
  • Unhealthy lifestyle
  • Obesity
  • Family history

10 Signs of a Heart Attack You Shouldn’t Ignore

1. Anxiety

Just before having a heart attack many people experience feelings of anxiety and extreme nervousness.

2. Chest Pain

This is the most classical symptom of a heart attack. The pain is centered, slightly to the left, under your breastbone. Many describe this type of chest pain as “an elephant sitting on the chest”. So whenever you feel an uncomfortable pressure, burning or crushing sensation, squeezing or fullness on your chest and have other signs, don’t hesitate to call for help.

Note that not all chest pain is related to a heart disease. When the pain is sharp and stabbing it is generally not related to a heart attack. If you’re not sure, better call for help than to wait. Seconds can save lives here.

3.  Shortness of Breath

Another common sign of having a heart attack is shortness of breath. It’s like you just ran a marathon and find it difficult to take long, deep breathes due to a tight feeling in the chest.

4.   Cold Sweat

Another common sign is breaking out in a cold sweat while sitting still. This sign never stands on its own though. Most people who have a heart attack experience chest pressure or pain, shortness of breath and cold sweat all at the same time.

5.  Spreading Pain

Mostly the pain of a heart attack starts in the chest and spreads to the shoulders, arms, elbow, back, neck, jaw and abdomen. The pain will mostly spread to the left side of your body. In some cases there is no chest pain, just the pain in these body parts and therefore people often think they have sore muscles. The pain may come and go or it may be a constant pain.

6. Fluid Accumulation

Heart failure can accumulate fluids, making your feet, legs, and abdomen swell. Abdominal swelling can lead to a loss of appetite. Those fluids can also accumulate in your lungs, causing a persistent cough or wheeze. Some people even cough up bloody phlegm.

7.  Irregular Heart Pulse

Irregular heart pulses or arrhythmias combined with dizziness, weakness and shortness of breath can be a sign of a heart attack.

8. Light headed

Lightheadedness and loss of consciousness can occur while experiencing other heart attack symptoms.

9. Fatigue And Weakness

Unusual fatigue and weakness can occur in the days or weeks before having a heart attack.

10.  Nausea and vomiting

Not the most common sign and especially women feel sick to their stomach when having a heart attack.

Not everyone having a heart attack will have the typical symptoms of chest pain, sweat, and shortness of breath. Especially women experience more vomiting and dizziness and therefore they often think it’s the flu or a cold.

Symptoms can come in a matter of seconds or slowly build-up for days and even weeks. So at any time you may think there’s something wrong call for help. Acting fast can save your life and when things turn really bad, don’t drive yourself but call 911 and try to stay calm and breathe slowly. Also if you’re not allergic to aspirin it is wise to crush or chew on one to limit the damage.

Eat more spearmint for better health

Spearmint has long been a popular addition to a number of different products that are designed to care for the body. Well-known for its minty taste and the fresh feeling it gives a person, spearmint also offers health benefits beyond a pleasant taste. This herb is commonly found in a variety of different products such as cosmetics, mouthwashes, health food products and toothpastes.

Though it is similar to peppermint, spearmint does not contain as much menthol. This gives it a milder flavor and aroma that results in a broad appeal for the herb. Spearmint also contains ample amounts of cineol, limonene and dihydrocarvone. These compounds help give spearmint its healing properties that confer health benefits for the people who consume products containing the herb, including spearmint tea.

Using spearmint to treat digestive issues

Spearmint has been shown to be effective at treating a number of digestive disorders. One way it accomplishes this is by relaxing the stomach muscles. This could help treat conditions such as nausea, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), indigestion and diarrhea, as well as other common digestive concerns. This was the conclusion reached according to a review of the effects of spearmint tea that was recently published in Phytotherapy Research.

Spearmint to reduce inflammation

There has been promising research results in using spearmint to treat conditions such as sore throats, that often result in inflammation and swelling. Spearmint has also proved promising in reducing inflammation in the respiratory tract. Some people have experienced relief from swelling when spearmint was applied directly to their mouths. In other cases, spearmint was shown to offer relief from the common cold, toothaches, headaches and cramps.

Abnormal hair growth and spearmint

A condition in which abnormal hair growth is seen on the stomach, face and breasts of women is called hirutism. Understandably, this condition can cause great stress for those women who suffer from it. A study published in Phytotherapry Research showed that there are promising results for those participants who drank two cups of spearmint tea per day for five days. The spearmint tea reduced the amount of androgens that were present in the bodies of these women. Androgens are those hormones in the body that prompt the body to exhibit primarily masculine traits, such as facial hair.

Spearmint lends itself greatly to spawning hybrid versions. Some of the more illustrious versions include ginger spearmint, pineapple spearmint, corn mint and Japanese mint. An interesting note about this versatile herb is that almost every part of the plant has been had some medicnial use, either in a traditional sense or for more modern uses.

Everyone Must Must Read This: Fitting In Fitness

Finding Time For Physical Activity

Finding time for fitness can be tough. The key is making it convenient.Consider these practical suggestions.

You know fitness is important for your health and well-being. And you want to get more active, but your days are a blur of work, household chores, errands, and time with family and friends. Setting aside enough time to sleep – let alone exercise – can be tough.
So how can you find time for fitness? The key is to be flexible and make fitness a way of life. And remember all physical activity – not just formal exercise programs – adds up to a healthier you.

Fitting in fitness at home

Time spent at home doesn’t have to be couch potato time. To make fitness a priority at home:

• Wake up early : Get up 30 minutes earlier than you normally do and use the extra time to walk on your treadmill or take a brisk walk around the neighborhood.
• Make chores count : Mop the floor, scrub the bathtub or do other housework at a pace fast enough to get your heart pumping. Outdoor work counts, too. Mowing the lawn with a push mower is a great way to burn calories. Raking and hoeing strengthen your arms and back, and digging works your arms and legs.
• Be active while watching TV : Use hand weights, ride a stationary bike or do a stretching routine during your favorite shows. Get off the couch to change the channel or adjust the volume.
• Involve the whole family : Take group walks before or after dinner. Play catch. Ride your bikes. It’s best to build up to about 30 minutes of continuous activity, but you can exercise in shorter bursts, too.
• Get your dog into the act : Take daily walks with Fido or Fluffy. If you don’t have a dog, borrow one. An enthusiastic dog may give you the motivation you need to lace up your walking shoes.

Work out at work

To fit in more physical activity while you’re on the job:

Make the most of your commute : Walk or bike to work. If you ride the bus, get off a few blocks early and walk the rest of the way.
Take the stairs whenever you can : If you have a meeting on another floor, get off the elevator a few floors early and use the stairs. Better yet, skip the elevator entirely.
Take fitness breaks : Rather than hanging out in the lounge with coffee or a snack, take a short walk. Or invite colleagues to join you for a walking meeting.
Start a walking group : The regular routine and the support of your co-workers may help you stick with the program.
Put it on the calendar : Schedule physical activity as you would any other appointment during the day. Don’t change your exercise plans for every interruption that comes along.
Take it on the road : If you travel for work, plan ahead. Bring your jump-rope or choose a hotel that has fitness facilities. If you’re stuck in an airport waiting for a plane, grab your bags and take a walk.

More tips for fitting in fitness

Here are a few more ways you can add more activity to your routine:
• Get more out of errands : When you go to the mall or grocery store, park toward the back of the lot and walk the extra distance. If you have a little extra time, walk inside for a lap or two before you start shopping. Keep a pair of walking shoes in your car so that you’re ready when you find a few minutes for exercise.
• Get social : Make a date with a friend to hike in a local park, or take a family trip to the zoo. Try a dance club, hiking group or golf league. Encouragement from others can help you stay with a new activity.
• Team up : Sign up for a softball, soccer or volleyball team through your local parks and recreation department. Making a commitment to a team is a great motivator.
• Join the club : Sign up for a group exercise class at a nearby gym or fitness center. The cost may be an added incentive to stick with it.

There’s no single best way to fit physical activity into your day. Your lifestyle, job and family responsibilities will point to the most convenient time and place for fitness. Do what works for you — and make daily physical activity a habit you keep.

Three Amazing Uses for Tea Tree Oil

Long before the advent of modern medicine, people were using essential oils for medicinal purposes. The oil of the evergreen shrub, tea tree, was particularly venerated by ancient cultures, especially the Australian Aborigines. In fact, evidence shows that the Aborigines have been using the oils of their indigenous Melaleuca alternifolia tree for centuries to treat a wide array of conditions ranging from simple coughs to serious skin conditions.

Today, tea tree oil enjoys a reputation comparable to that of baking soda or coconut oil: A must-have health product whose sanitary and medicinal uses could fill (and have filled) numerous books. This article provides a distillation of the three most popular uses for tea tree oil.

Mouth Cleanser

There’s a good reason why so many mouth care products contain tea tree oil as a central ingredient: Being a potent antibacterial, tea tree oil is able to kill just about anything harmful residing in our mouths. Adding a few drops of tea tree oil to a mixture of baking soda and purified water, for instance, makes an excellent homemade toothpaste. Alternatively, you can make a simple but potent mouthwash by mixing a few drop of tea tree oil to purified water and swishing the mixture around your mouth for a couple of minutes after brushing. Some people like to add peppermint oil to the mixture to improve its taste.

Incidentally, if your morning consists of an oil pulling routine using sesame or sunflower oil, consider adding a few drops of tea tree oil to the oil to give it additional antibacterial power. Those of you who oil pull using coconut oil don’t need to do this since coconut oil is already an antibacterial.

Skin Care

Since tea tree oil is a antimicrobial and antifungal as well as an antibacterial, it can help treat almost any skin condition through topical application. If you’re suffering from acne, psoriasis, eczema, athlete’s food, insect bites, cuts, rashes, or any other skin issue, apply tea tree oil to the affected area using a cotton bud and leave it to absorb for at least a few hours, but ideally overnight. If you find that the oil is too harsh for your skin, you can dilute it with purified water.

Note: Even though it is a natural product, using tea tree oil to treat certain skin conditions might be futile if those conditions stem from certain dietary or lifestyle issues that remain undiagnosed. For example, a lot of people unknowingly suffer from common skin ailments like acne or eczema due to a wheat or gluten intolerance. Therefore, if tea tree oil or other antimicrobial products are failing to treat a certain condition, that condition probably has a deeper cause that needs to be treated before any residual symptoms can be addressed.

Household Cleaner

Who needs artificial and overpriced household cleaners when tea tree oil can kill germs and microbes just as well, and without filling your house with chemicals? To make a homemade cleaner out of tea tree oil, simply combine two teaspoons of it with two cups of purified water in a spray bottle. Then, the sky is the limit: from tiles to kitchen surfaces to sinks to toilets, tea tree can clean it – and without leaving an unpleasant, lingering aroma.

3. Eat Almonds to Get Rid of Abdominal Fat

One of the superfoods that fights obesity are almonds. Almonds are high in fats- the good fats. How do almonds then reduce belly fat? It is because they are also a powerhouse of essential nutrients like magnesium, protein, Vitamin E and fiber! When you have enough good protein, you develop lean muscle mass which in turn helps you burn fat. Fibers are good not only for digestion but also to give you the feeling of fullness which stops you from overeating. The monounsaturated fats or the good fats in almonds not only help in losing weight but also in reducing Body Mass Index (BMI). This has been established by a study published in the International Journal of Obesity and Related Metabolic Disorders. This food has many other advantages apart from a miracle for reducing obesity. It is also good for heart diseases and diabetes as it not only reduces bad cholesterol in arteries but also stabilizes blood sugar. So, without any worry, you can have almonds daily. But remember, excess of anything is bad.

Have a handful of them, 10-20 almonds per day, not more than that! And yes, do not have the fried or sugar coated ones, have plain or at the most, roasted almonds!

Ways to have almonds to reduce belly fat

  • Soak 6-8 almond in water overnight. Have them first thing in the morning. However, if you are having lemon water first thing in the morning, wait for about 30-40 minutes before having soaked almonds.
  • Add almonds in your morning breakfast. Add them to your salad, fruit mix, porridge or even to your breakfast cereal combined with milk!
  • Snack on almonds when feeling hungry.
  • Use them in salads, stir fries etc.

4. Include Beans in Daily Diet to Reduce Abdominal Fat
According to the Harvard School of Public Health, lean sources of protein like chicken and beans, help your body in keeping the intake of saturated fats at a healthy level. If you can’t have chicken daily, have beans. Beans help to flatten your belly not only due to its lean protein but also due to its various other healthy compounds including soluble as well as insoluble fibers. Due to their low glycemic index, beans get digested at slower pace keeping you fuller for a longer time, thus saving you from hunger pangs too. Beans are good for diabetes and heart disease too. So, what types of beans and how much of them will help you lose abdominal fat? Check it out!

What Beans to have?
All or any type of beans can help you in fighting off obesity, particularly belly fat.

  • White beans
  • Pink beans
  • Red kidney beans
  • Black beans
  • Pinto beans
  • Lentil
  • Garbanzo beans aka chickpeas

How much beans to have daily?
Not more than one cup of beans every day. Rinse them thoroughly before using. If you soak beans, wash them thoroughly before soaking and try not to discard the water when cooking beans. If you are using canned beans then also wash them properly to keep off the gas producing sugars.

What are the ways to have beans?
You can have them in any manner- as salad, dips, side dish, baked into muffins, or as main dish!
Replace your breakfast toasts with beans and have them with eggs.
Make salsa by mixing black beans with tomatoes, corn kernels, pepper, lime juice, olive oil, your choice of herbs and seasoning’s!
Prepare hummus which is a Middle Eastern spread made with chickpeas as main ingredient. Use it as a party dip or sandwich spread.
Bake your muffins, breads, cakes etc. using beans flour
You may also use black bean flour as a thickening agent for sauces.
Replace mashed potatoes with mashed beans dish.
Use a bed of herbs flavoured white beans when serving grilled chicken and fish.
Have simple bean soups, stews.
Innovate your own way to have beans daily!

5. Cucumber Helps Reduce Abdominal Fat
Cucumber is a great summer food but what’s interesting is that it is also an excellent fat burning food! Elizabeth Somer is a dietitian and in her book “Nutrition for Women,” she has suggested ways to lose weigh and keep it off She says cucumbers have rich content of two trace minerals- sulphur and silicon. These trace minerals may be the reason why cucumbers burn fat. Cucumbers are also high in water content and thus act as diuretics preventing the belly to bloat. Bloating may give an impression of a fat abdomen. When you add cucumbers with lemon, it becomes a superfood for burning fat as lemons excellently boost metabolism and their high acidic content helps in breaking down the fat. Have this very low-calorie food called cucumber extensively during the day. Yes, cucumbers contain about 96% water and there’s only about 45 calories in a whole cucumber.

Ways to have cucumber to reduce belly fat
Add a bowl of sliced cucumbers with your breakfast
have cucumber salad everyday with lunch. Add a dash of lemon juice, pepper, salt or vinegar and some herbs plus olive oil to make it a tangy treat.
Carry cucumber with you wherever you go- office, college or such regular places where you need to spend longer periods. Snack on these cucumbers when you feel hungry.

6. Wholegrain Cereals with Milk Breakfast to Lose Belly Fat
You should not skip breakfast. This slows down your metabolism. However, wrong type of breakfast can actually lead to weight gain! So, the mantra is to have right breakfast everyday. The high fiber wholegrain breakfast cereals can maintain steady blood sugar levels so that you remain satiated for longer periods thus avoiding hunger pangs. When you mix your cereals with milk, it’s nutrients may actually speed up your fat-burning metabolism. A study published in the ‘American Journal of Clinical Nutrition,’ states that higher amounts of calcium and vitamin D can help in weight loss and as per Somer, these two nutrients can also aid in burning fat by lowering the production of fat-producing enzymes.
