Side Effects of Cimzia

Cimzia (certolizumab pegol) is a prescription drug used to reduce Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) pain, stiffness and fatigue. Cimzia affects the immune system and can lower the ability of the immune system to fight infections. A majority of patients using prescription Cimzia experience noticeable improvements in as little as 1-2 weeks of use.


RA causes the body to attack itself, damaging joints and organs. It usually strikes adults between the ages of 40 and 60. RA is twice as common in women than in men. • Swelling of the feet or ankles

• Sudden weight gain

• Seizures

• Inflammation of the nerves of the eyes

• Dizziness

• Weakness in the arms or legs

• Numbness tingling problems with your vision

• Skin rashes

• Swelling of the face, tongue, lips or throat

• Difficulty breathing

• Fever, skin rash, joint pain

• Injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling around injection site.)


• Urinary tract infections

• Upper respiratory infections 

• Psoriasis

• Flu-like symptoms
