Visit your doctor right away if you notice any of the following warning signs of type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is a preventable, manageable and reversible disease.
Fatigue
If your energy levels have taken a sudden dive, you could have type 2 diabetes. If you're still lethargic no matter how much sleep you get, see your doctor right away.
Hunger and Thirst
If you're chronically hungry or thirsty, contact your doctor right away for an evaluation. Persistent thirst and hunger is a symptom of insulin resistance and diabetes.
Frequent Urination
Also, if you're going to the bathroom more than a few times each hour, and you haven't increased your intake of fluids- you could have type 2 diabetes.
Numbness and Tingling
If you experience symptoms like numbness or tingling in your hands, finger or feet this could be a warning sign that you have diabetes.
Frequent Infections
Frequent infections of the bladder, gums or skin could be an indicator of type 2 diabetes. If you also have cuts or bruises that are slow to heal- contact your doctor right away.
Other symptoms of type 2 diabetes: blurred vision or unexplained weight loss.
